British Sign Language is used by over 150,000 people in the United Kingdom. Despite its uptake there has been a shift in decreased use among young people. d/Deaf people are moving away from regional sign language and British Sign Language awareness in young people is decreased across the board.

I wanted to do something to raise awareness of BSL by grabbing young peoples attentions. I focused on GIFs that can draw the connections between the word and the image it represents using the sign language movement.

It encouraged more young people to be interested in British Sign Language by reinforcing the learning and clarity of meaning in the signs using the simple imagery parried with the sign to explain a word.
